Baltimore Co. Cork Overlooking Reengaroga and Sherkin Island, Baltimore is one of the most south-westerly points of Ireland, The nearby waters of Roaring Water Bay, Cape Clear, Heir Island & Carbery’s One Hundred Isles with the Fastnet Rock Lighthouse just nine miles offshore with it’s warm Gulf Stream influences as well as its renowned landscapes & unspoiled coast lines make it one of Europe's finest sailing areas.
Nestled on the shores of the crystal-clear, clean & sheltered waters of the Bay, the picturesque West Cork fishing town of Baltimore, with its sheltered harbour, has always had a strong maritime tradition. Raided by Algerian pirates in 1631, Baltimore now plays host to visiting foreign yachts and tourists who add to the ambience and help to pack the pubs and restaurants.

Our sailing centre is located in Baltimore’s Old Railway Station, situated right on the bay. Just a short stroll away is the Square where locals & visitors can enjoy the beautiful views over the harbour & relax over a drink or a meal. Land-based sailors on Beginner and Improver courses live in the Old Station Master’s House which offers basic, clean and comfortable hostel style accommodation with full board for up to 40 people. Live-aboard sailors provision their boats in Baltimore and practice manoeuvres in the bay, then set forth to roam the Cork and Kerry coastline, wherever the wind may blow. Getting Here ...The sailing centre is located in the Old Railway Station and is sign-posted from the Village. By Road from Cork as follows - From the South Ring Road take the N71 for Bandon and and West Cork, continue on to Skibbereen
- Enter Skibbereen town centre and follow the signs to Baltimore.
- On entering Baltimore take 2nd right hand turn after Casey's Hotel
- Follow the road around to the left and the base is on the left hand side facing the sea.
